Friday the 13th: The Game's latest trailer showcases Jason Voorhees in action

[Update]: Friday the 13th: The Game's very final update has now removed Dedicated Servers.
Friday the 13th: The Game, besides having quite possibly the most boring name ever conceived by man, is an asymmetrical multiplayer game where one player controls Jason Voorhees and attempts to introduce the rest of the players to the sharp end of his machete. But most interestingly of all, due to Jason's penchant for drama he's only ever capable of walking at a brisk pace, which means that Friday the 13th plays a lot differently than most other games in the genre. Jason does get the ability to teleport around in order to compensate for this weakness, but its still a rather interesting concept, and one that has a lot of potential for exciting gameplay on both sides!
If you're wondering what all of this might look like in gameplay terms, allow me to show you the most recent trailer. For those of you that don't feel like watching the overly long intro, simply skip to 20 seconds in the video and you'll be straight in the action. Have a look:
Stars in Shadow, a turn-based 4X strategy game, is set to arrive on January 19

If you're a fan of oldschool 4X strategy games you might want to pay attention to Stars in Shadow as it appears to be a rather faithful homage to the genre as a whole. There's plenty of star systems to explore and settle, a variety of alien races to either enslave or ally with, and naturally, the ability to construct your personal fleet of battleships with which you can 'unify' the galaxy.
As for what exactly this looks like in-game you can find out by taking a glance at the most recent trailer. Don't expect to get a detailed overview of what the gameplay is all about since the whole video is rather short, but it should still give you a general idea. Anyway, have a look:
The latest Watch_Dogs 2 update has optimized performance and added support for newer versions of DualShock 4 controllers

If performance issues have been stopping you from finishing Watch_Dogs 2, you might want to give the newest patch a try. It has brought with it performance improvements for systems with low amounts of RAM, as well as a bit of optimization for Screenspace Reflections that should improve the overall performance. And if that doesn't help, there are now two new lower quality levels for Screenspace Reflections, so make sure to give those a try and see if they can help you.
Besides optimization tweaks this patch has also brought in support for the newer versions of DualShock 4 controllers, as well as the long-awaited music volume slider. If you're interested in all of the details, here are the full patch notes:
Valve's Gabe Newell will be hosting a Reddit AMA later today
- By Ash

[Update]: The AMA is now over. You can find my summary by heading over here.
Even though Valve as a whole seems to shy away from any sort of community interaction Gabe Newell is surprisingly approachable, so much so that he has a public email address where he takes the time to answer fan questions. But even still I must say I am impressed that someone as busy as Gabe Newell has decided to, at the behest of a single fan, host a Reddit AMA so that the entire world can grill him endlessly about Half Life 3!
On January 17th at 11pm UTC / 3pm PST / 6pm ET Gabe Newell will appear on The Gaben subreddit and host an AMA (Ask Me Anything). The choice of subreddit is a bit... questionable given that The Gaben appears to be mostly satirical in nature, but if nothing else the comments are going to be rather interesting!

If you're up for giving Battleborn a second try, you'll be glad to hear that the massive Winter Update is set to arrive this January 19th. It will make all 25 core heroes free for all players, so you'll no longer need to do pointless challenges and grind out currency in order to mess around with your favorites. Furthermore, credit rewards have been increased in order to help new players, and best of all, there will be a training mode that teaches you how to play each individual hero.
There's also a whole bunch of other major features, stuff that I can't really summarize in a single sentence, so here's the official list of changes and things you can expect to see in the Winter Update:
Pokemon Evolved is an Ark: Survival Evolved mod that replaces dinosaurs with pokemon

If Pokemon GO didn't end up fulfilling your dreams of roaming the land and taming wild pokemon, perhaps you might find your fortune in Ark: Survival Evolved's Pokemon Evolved mod. Even though its currently in alpha it features around 30 pokemon which you can battle and potentially tame, including some fan favorites such as: Charizard, Mewtwo, Blaziken, Alakhazam, and Squirtle.
To begin your career as a pokemon tamer all you'll need to do is head over to the Steam Workshop and download the mod. Its around 700MB in size, so do bear that in mind if you're on any sort of tight data cap. And also make sure to back up your save file before installing complex mods such as this one, just in case something goes terribly wrong.
Trine devs have announced a new roguelike RPG titled Has-Been Heroes
- By Ash
- in Indie Games
Has-Been Heroes is a "game of strategy and action with a roguelike twist" starring a group of legendary champions that were once celebrated throughout the kingdom for their heroic deeds. Unfortunately even legends grow old, and our once mighty heroes slowly faded away into the mists of history, destined to be forgotten by the very kingdom they once saved. However, it appears that our heroes will not be able to enjoy their well deserved rest as the King has tasked them with one final quest, a quest so important it can only be entrusted to the most legendary of warriors - taking the twin princesses to school!
Since Has-Been Heroes doesn't appear to be your usual RPG, both in terms of storytelling and gameplay mechanics, perhaps it would be for the best if you just saw the trailer rather than listen to me babble. Have a look:
