Ubisoft's extreme winter sports game Steep will be getting an Olympics themed expansion in December

Steep is Ubisoft's extreme winter sports game that allows you to ski, glide, snowboard, or just faceplant across a variety of rather lovely terrain. Given the theme it really shouldn't come as a surprise to hear that has Ubisoft has recently announced a Winter Olympics themed expansion - Road to the Olympics.
The upcoming expansion will allow you to fully explore the mountains of Japan and South Korea, and perhaps most importantly, compete in some of the official Olympic disciplines such as: Downhill, Slopestyle, Halfpipe, Giant Slalom, Super-G, and Big Air. Besides all of the new modes and maps there will also be numerous challenges to undertake, as well as what appears to be a tournament system. Road to the Olympics has only recently been announced, so take that last statement with a bit of salt, but it would make sense for an Olympics themed expansion to feature a proper tournament mode.
The side-scrolling medieval action-adventure Bannerman will be arriving this August
- By Ash
- in Indie Games
Bannerman is a medieval action-adventure with dark overtones, rotoscoped 16-bit visuals, and a combat system designed to reward skill, patience, and timing above all else. In order to survive you're going to need to attack when the time is right, parry every enemy blow you can and dodge the rest, punch and kick in order to gain an advantage, and if everything else fails, chuck and endless hail of arrows in the vague direction of your enemy and hope for the best.
You can get a brief glimpse at what all of this looks like in-game through the recently posted trailer. There isn't much straight-up gameplay on display, but what is present should give you a pretty good idea of whether you're going to enjoy this type of combat or not. Without any further delays, here's the video:
Prison Architect dev's latest cave exploration game Scanner Sombre now has a VR mode available

If you're a fan of Prison Architect but you're wondering what in the world Scanner Sombre even is, that would be exactly the problem Introversion is currently facing. They went from selling over 2 million copies of Prison Architect to around 6000 copies of the newly released and cave-exploring Scanner Sombra, which in the words of the developers themselves has "bombed".
In an effort to explain what exactly happened with Scanner Sombre, but also showcase the newly added VR mode, the develops have recently posted a rather intriguing video. So whether you're interested in the VR version of Scanner Sombre or Introversion themselves I would recommend you give the video a look as it paints a good picture of what releasing games on Steam is like. Here's the video:
Here are my recommendations for Day 4 of the 2017 Steam Summer Sale

After a few weeks of teasers, rumors, and wild theories the Steam Summer Sale has now finally arrived, bringing with it a ridiculous amount of discounted games. However, while that is certainly a good thing, it is not exactly easy to choose only a couple of games when you have thousands upon thousands strewn before you.
In an effort to help out with this little 'problem', and also showcase some great games you might not have otherwise even looked at, I have devised a brief list consisting of five games you should consider grabbing on Day 4 of the 2017 Steam Summer Sale. Without further ado, let's begin:
The Dungeon Keeper inspired management/sim game Dungeons 3 will be coming later this year

[Update #2]: A few years later, Dungeons 4 has now been announced alongside a 2023 release date.
[Update]: Dungeons 3 has now been unleashed, and so far it's looking quite solid!
Despite being incredibly old the original Dungeon Keeper and its sequel are still highly enjoyable games with a variety of ways to play them. Given their popularity and critical acclaim you would expect Steam to be filled with all sorts of games trying to recreate and improve upon the formula, but in reality there's only a couple of them that have managed to come even close.
One of these series is the appropriately named Dungeons, which while somewhat flawed has managed to successfully replicate the Dungeon Keeper gameplay and charm. As such, I'm glad to say that after the positively received Dungeons 2 we will soon be getting a brand new sequel through the rather plainly named Dungeons 3!
Warframe's "Chains of Harrow" Update is coming next week with a new frame and a remastered Earth
- By Ash
- in News
Warframe has always worked on a cycle between major and minor updates, and as you can guess from the title alone we're currently due for one of the major ones. The Chains of Harrow Update will be bringing with it a brand new Warframe by the name of (you guessed it) Harrow, a new story quest related to him, a remastered version of the Earth tileset, a new Grineer enemy, and the list goes on for quite a while.
While its appearance might not indicate this, Harrow is all about empowering himself and his teammates, rather than all-out aggression. He's capable of chaining enemies to the floor while reinforcing his shields, then sacrificing those shields to boost reload, fire rate, and lifesteal of himself and his allies. And if that wasn't supporty enough, he's also capable of channeling energy into his Thurible (a metal censer apparently), after which nearby kills will grant allies bursts of energy, with the bursts being much larger for headshot kills. Combine this with his ultimate that absorbs all damage while converting it to a critical chance bonus for allies and you've got yourself a frame that might not sound impressive, but in reality has a ton of potential.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance devs have released a lengthy video going over all aspects of gameplay
- By Ash
- in News
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an upcoming medieval RPG that aims to be as realistic and faithful to the era as possible. In other words, don't expect to see mages throwing fireballs or caves filled with zombies, but rather a whole bunch of knights and peasants fighting a bloody civil war.
If you're interested in what all of this might look like in terms of gameplay, and if you have about an hour to spare, you'll find the recently posted video right below. Just keep in mind that what you're watching is alpha footage, so there are obviously going to be bugs and issues even though everything is pretty much working as expected. Anyway, have a look:
