World War Z official artwork for the Aftermath expansion

[Update]: World War Z is adding Horde Mode XL with an utterly absurd number of zombies to fight.

If you're looking for an excuse to revisit the surprisingly good World War Z, you'll be happy to hear that it has just received its very first expansion. Aftermath brings with it three new campaigns set in Rome, Vatican City and Kamchatka, a first-person mode option and improved melee combat, as well as a variety of new toys to utilize against the ravenous hordes.

What all of this looks like in actual gameplay, that you can get a bit of a sneak peek at through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander:

From what I can tell so far it seems that while Aftermath is a solid expansion, it's currently suffering from both technical and balance issues. So unless you're extremely eager to dive in, I'd say this is one of those situations where waiting a few weeks would be prudent. This way you'll still get to play all of the new content while it's still fresh, but with the added benefit of having most of the major issues fixed by the time you'd run into them.

Whatever your choice may be you can learn more about World War Z: Aftermath, as well as check out some of the user reviews, over at Steam.
