World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth Warbringers animated short staring Azshara

In order to get everyone up to speed on Battle for Azeroth's lore and character, Blizzard has recently begun releasing 'Warbringers' animated shorts. The first two launched ahead of Battle for Azeroth and provided some much-needed context for the conflict between the Horde and the Alliance, while the most recent one is here to show off that there is a far greater threat lurking in the depths.

So if you're interested in seeing how Queen Azshara and her Naga armies came to be, you'll find the answers you seek right below. Have a look, the cinematic is pretty darn enjoyable, though it unfortunately doesn't feature a song as catchy as Jaina's:

While I feel Sylvanas' cinematic strayed too far from the actual character, this most recent one for Azshara has done an excellent job of capturing her personality. I especially love the brief moment where she starts thinking she has overplayed her hand and is going to die for it. A small moment in the grand scheme of things, but one that gives her character just a bit more nuance, and that is something I'm always happy to see.

As far as theories go, I think it's becoming pretty obvious that Bwonsamdi is either under N'Zoth's control, or just straight up N'Zoth himself. I genuinely hope not as Bwonsamdi is an awesome character to have kicking around in the background, but the "I like deals" line is a bit too heavy-handed to ignore.

If Blizzard releases another cinematic I'll make sure to let you know, and until then I wish you the best of luck with finally getting a good weapon from the pesky emissary quests!
