[Update]: Patch 10.0.5 has now arrived alongside a sizable batch of balance changes.

If your favorite part of an MMO is making your character look ridiculously awesome, or just plain ol' ridiculous, you'll be happy to hear that World of Warcraft: Dragonflight's upcoming Update 10.0.5 is all about the cosmetics. First and foremost, once it arrives this January 24th Update 10.0.5 will finally allow you to transmog the appearance of poor (grey) and common (white) quality items. Many of these items represent highly thematic sets from the various starter zones, so expect to see a whole bunch of interesting new customization options to mess around with.

The good news doesn't end there, however, as Update 10.0.5 will also be launching alongside The Storm’s Fury event. The event will spin up every five hours and will take place at the Temporal Conflux portal in Thaldraszus. Braving its various challenges will grant you Essences of the Storm - a currency that can then be used to acquire items like the Skyskin Hornstrider mount, Time-Lost Vorquin Foal pet, or other such goodies.

Most importantly of all, Update 1.0.5 will bring with it the Trading Post! While the name might suggest it's some sort of Auction House off-shoot, the Trading Post is actually a way for you to purchase a massive array of fancy cosmetics, mounts, pets and even cash shop items. Don't worry, however, as the Trading Post will not be using real money, but rather a brand new account-wide currency called Trader's Tender.

You can earn 500 Trader's Tender every month by simply visiting the Trading Post, and then further augment your reserves with another 500 by completing an assortment of monthly activities. While the Trading Post's stock will unfortunately rotate each month, the good news is that these items will not be gone for good but will instead cycle back in a couple of months. The final thing worth mentioning is that the Trading Post will not open its doors once Update 10.0.5 launches, but rather on the morning of February 1st to better fit with the whole monthly cycle.

Once Update 10.0.5 goes live, as well as when the Trading Post actually opens its doors, I'll make sure to let you know as I'm quite eager to dive in myself. Until then, have fun exploring Dragonflight's world!
