[Update]: Shadowlands' very first major content patch will be landing at the end of June.

While Anima is not directly tied to power like Battle for Azeroth's Azerite, it still plays a major role when it comes to upgrading your Covenant hideout and purchasing an assortment of cosmetics. However, despite the costs being incredibly high across the board, getting any significant quantities of Anima has been incredibly difficult all throughout Shadowlands, even after Blizzard buffed some of the dungeon rewards.

With all of that in mind, you'll be pleased to hear that Blizzard has now finally listened and increased the amount of Anima you gain from completing world quests! However, in true World of Warcraft fashion, it's not a simple numerical buff but a whole new system to keep an eye out for.

The way it works is that your Anima rewards are tied to the level of your Covenant buildings. So if you have every Covenant building at level one, a fairly easy task, each world quests that gives Anima will now give you an additional 35 Anima. The same goes for level two buildings and level three buildings, with the maximum amount of potential Anima you can get from common world quests being 245.

Unfortunately, there is one more catch - the achievements that unlock higher Anima gains are character-specific. In other words, even if your main has every single building completed and can enjoy greatly increased Anima drops, your alts will have to work their way up from the very bottom with the same old unrewarding quests.

I was hoping Blizzard finally turned a new leaf in regards to alts when they made Ve'nari reputation account-wide in a previous update, but alas that seems to have been a one-off deal. Still, any sort of buff to Anima gain is certainly nice, so I won't complain too much.

Should anything change I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, you should also check out the PTR for the upcoming Patch 9.1 - Chains of Domination as that is bringing with it some much-needed balance tweaks alongside a brand new batch of content. Enjoy!
