After going through a bit of a lengthy delay, Volition's big Saints Row reboot has now finally arrived. As you might imagine given the previous games, Saints Row is all about creating the most absurd character possible and then flinging them from one poorly thought out scheme to another, all the while making a mess of the various over-the-top gangs that inhabit the city.

As for the bad news, well, it would be the simple fact that Saints Row feels kind of dated at this point. Saints Row 3 offered a fresh and unique take on the whole open-world mucking around formula, but quite a few years have gone by since then and the stuff that was once shocking now barely even registers. As such, even though Saints Row is not a terrible game by any stretch, it's a hard one to recommend as it just feels like more of the same.

So unless you're extremely eager to dive in, I'd advise a bit of patience. Grabbing it a few months down the line will help you avoid most of the annoying bugs, and you'll be able to grab it at a discount which should help make some of the bigger flaws easier to stomach.
