[Update #2]: After many, many delays, Bloodlines 2 will be re-revealed in September 2023, though you can now refund your pre-order if you wish

[Update]: Bloodlines 2's newest trailer offers a brief and disturbing look into its world.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 was originally supposed to launch at some point in March, 2020. However, according to the latest announcement, it would appear that the release date has now been pushed back to a rather nebulous "later in 2020."

"For the last three and a half years, we’ve worked hard to bring you a worthy successor to Bloodlines 1," reads the latest developer update. "To us, that meant not only making good on the ambitions of this remarkable game, but also a duty to ensure we would not repeat its mistakes."

"Although Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will still launch in 2020, we have decided to value quality over making the Q1 launch window. There are some things we wanted to hit under all circumstances when we set out to follow in Bloodlines’ footsteps: A deep, branching storyline; fascinating and amazingly acted characters; the rich universe of the World of Darkness. We firmly believe that we’re on the right track to get you all of this."

As always, I am perfectly happy to wait a few more months in order to ensure Bloodlines 2 doesn't end up unfinished or unpolished like the original. Furthermore, Bloodlines 2 would've been up against some extremely heavy competition in March, thus potentially mirroring the problems the original faced releasing alongside the giant that was Half-Life 2. So while it certainly sucks having to wait a little while longer, I do believe this delay is in everyone's best interests.

Once the new release date get announced I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, you can read a little bit more about Bloodlines 2 over at the official website.
