[Update]: After a long period of silence, Ubisoft has now delayed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to 2023-24.

After witnessing the Avatar 2 movie get delayed time and time again, it seems that Ubisoft has simply decided to take matters into their own hands! In other words, they have just announced Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - a first person, action-adventure set in the highly immersive, open world of Pandora.

While there is still no gameplay trailer available, you can get a bit of an idea of the sort of atmosphere and visuals Ubisoft is going for through the announcement trailer below. Have a little peek:

Unless something goes horribly awry, I have a feeling Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be pretty fun to mess around with. After all, Ubisoft is at their best when it comes to designing open world adventures, while the greatest strength of the original Avatar movie was its colorful and imaginative world. It really is a perfect fit.

As for the release date, you can expect Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to arrive at some point in 2022 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Stadia and Amazon's Luna. I'd love to tell you more, but I'm afraid that's pretty much it for the time being.

You can keep an eye on any future announcements, as well as check out a few of the currently available screenshots, over at the Ubisoft website. Enjoy!
