Total War: Warhammer potential image teasing the sequel or expansion feature the jungles of Lustria

After the recent video showcasing all of the free content Total War: Warhammer got since release the developers announced that they have no more plans for DLC. This came as a massive surprise since both the Wood Elves and Beastmen were positively received, which means that fan-favorite factions such as the Skaven would be welcomed with opened arms (and wallets) by the community.

However, it appears that while Creative Assembly has no plans for DLC they do have plans for an expansion, or perhaps even a sequel. There is no official confirmation just yet, but the Total War website has recently been updated with a countdown timer and an image of a jungle with a single ziggurat far in the distance - the telltale signs of Lizardmen!

And if Total War: Warhammer 2 is going to take us into the "New World" this means that most of the neglected races from Total War: Warhammer will be making an appearance. The lush jungles of Lustria are densely packed with Lizardmen and Skaven from Clan Pestilens (yes, that's the correct spelling), while the surrounding areas see plenty of High and Dark Elf activity. If there was ever a place to set Total War: Warhammer 2, Lustria would definitely be pretty damn high up on the list!

All of this is currently pure speculation, so take everything I said with a grain of salt, but thankfully we won't have to live in ignorance for much longer as the timer only has 6 days remaining. Once it spews forth some actual information I'll make sure to update you, but until then you might as well pass the time with the newly introduced free Bretonnia DLC.
