In a bit of a surprise announcement, Creative Assembly has now revealed that the Dark Elves will soon be getting the mighty Kharibdyss as a brand new unit. As you can probably guess from the image alone, the Kharibdyss is a poison-spewing monstrosity that deals a high amount of damage and spreads fear wherever it goes, though it pays for all of that power with a rather slow movement speed and a huge, arrow-baiting character model.
The Kharibdyss will only be available to owners of the most recent The Queen & The Crone DLC, though if you don't have it there's no need to worry as there are also some rather interesting balance changes coming in with the update. You'll find the full patch notes over at the official website, but what I feel is worth highlighting the most is the various and much-needed buffs to Bretonnia.
Not only are their Lords and the Green Knight going to be much tougher in battle, but their mediocre infantry units are now finally getting the "expandable" tag, because as is tradition in Bretonnia, the knights don't really consider the poor peasants as anything more than fodder. This might look like a bizarre and unnecessary change, but it will actually go a long way towards improving Bretonnia's infantry as they will no longer start chain routing the moment one band of peasants decides it's time to hightail it out of there.
As for the release date, you'll be glad to hear that the Kharibdyss and its accompanying balance changes will be coming this June 21st at 15:00 BST.
