[Update #2]: The King's Shilling update has now gone live, fixing these bugs, as well as many others.

[Update]: The latest beta update has now fixed this bug, as well as a variety of other major problems.

Total War: Warhammer 2's The Shadow and The Blade DLC has arrived a little while ago, bringing with it a good chunk of new content to play around with, as well as some long-awaited quality of life changes and improvements. Sadly, it also brought with it a couple of really annoying issues.

First and foremost, AI-controlled Vampire Counts, Vampire Coast and Lizardmen factions are completely unable to field more than one army. As such, the overall balance on the campaign map is currently extremely out of whack as minor factions are dominating large stretches of land, while the already powerful factions like the Dwarfs or Empire are nearly unstoppable as there is simply nobody to challenge them.

Combine this with a recently discovered bug that can corrupt save files halfway through a campaign, and it's easy to see why the Total War: Warhammer 2 community is currently grumbling as much as the Dwarfs themselves. Worry not, however, as most of Creative Assembly has now arrived back from vacation and are already working on fixing these problems up.

"I am aware of the importance of some of these bugs, and I can reassure you that our development team are working hard (as always) to do their best to improve these," reads the brief developer update. "We’re aiming to get the patch out within the next few weeks, but development is always subject to change – so while I’m giving you the proposed timeline, I’m also asking for your understanding if this changes."

Once the update goes live I'll make sure to let you know, but until then you can at least fix the 'one army' problem by installing the appropriately titled One Army Bugfix mod. From my brief testing it seems to work exactly as advertised and is save-game compatible, so I'd fully recommend it until Creative Assembly releases an official fix. Have fun!
