[Update]: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has now finally arrived and, unsurprisingly, it's a bit of a mess.

It seems that these days delays always come in pairs. Ubisoft has just announced that their movie tie-in adventure Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has been pushed back to 2023-24, and almost immediately after Daedalic Entertainment have revealed that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has been delayed as well.

"During the past several years, the team has been working hard to share our vision of a remarkable story, set in a breathtaking world, filled with magic and wonder," reads the brief announcement. "We are dedicated to meeting our community's expectations and uncovering the untold story of Gollum in a way that honors the vision of J.R.R. Tolkien. That being said, in order to deliver the best possible experience, we have decided to push the release of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum by a few months."

No new release date has been announced just yet, but the developers have taken the opportunity to once again confirm that Gollum will be launching for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch. Once we get an actual release date, I'll make sure to let you know.

Personally, I'm quite happy to see Gollum get delayed as the recent preview did not exactly inspire confidence, and that's putting it politely. So with a bit of luck, the few extra months will give the developers enough time to at least get the gameplay bits polished up and ready to go.

For now, however, I'll leave you with the aforementioned trailer and its highly amusing comment section. Enjoy!
