Total War: Warhammer 2's Mortal Empires campaign arrived a little while ago, bringing with a massive world full of unique factions and races to conquer. However, due to some technical issues most of the changes that arrived in Total War: Warhammer 1's final update did not come as a part of the Mortal Empires campaign, thus leaving almost all of the Old World races at a significant disadvantage.

As such, I am very glad to say that Creative Assembly has now released most of the important changes onto the Steam beta client. In terms of content you can expect to see numerous design changes for the Warriors of Chaos, a variety of Wood Elf followers, new skill trees and campaign effects for most of the Old World Legendary Lords, and perhaps most importantly of all, a vast array of balance tweaks. If you're interested in all of the details you'll find the full patch notes over at the official website.

To join the beta simply head on over to Total War: Warhammer 2 in your Steam Library, right click on it and go into properties, and from there navigate to the Betas tab. After that all you need to do is select "mortal_empires_pte" from the dropdown menu and the download will start automatically. If you encounter any issues during installation, however, just restart Steam. That tends to solve the vast majority of them.

Finally, it is also important to mention that Norsca and the 30 unique Regiments of Renown that came with the Anniversary Update will not be making their way to Total War: Warhammer 2 until next year. You can find more information over here, but long story short, Creative Assembly has encountered some technical issues so progress on the Total War: Warhammer 2 version of Norsca is going a lot slower than expected. Once more information gets released I'll make sure to cover it, but for now I'm afraid all we can do is sit and wait.
