Dishonored 2's clockwork soldiers

With Dishonored 2's November 11th release date just around the proverbial corner, we're now finally getting a detailed look at all of the new stealth mechanics, tools, and abilities. And unlike the previous few gameplay videos, the presenter isn't take the easy way out by simply slicing and dicing through hordes of hapless guards!

As you can probably guess from the title alone, the latest Dishonored 2 gameplay video is a short and sneaky trip through the Clockwork Mansion - an absolute marvel of science, though with more than a fair share of madness to it. If you're interested in finding out what the Low Chaos playthrough in Dishonored 2 is going to look like, this is the video for you. Have a gander:

While its obvious that the developers didn't want to show all of their tricks in a single video, I still have to admit that this did fill me with a good degree of confidence for Dishonored 2. Not only are the new moves actually usable without completely butchering everyone within a 10 meter radius, they are also incredibly useful in a purely stealth orientated playthrough! A stark contrast to Dishonored 1 and its relatively limited pool of usable abilities.

The only thing I'm worried about is the spell shown at the very beginning, the one that essentially links together numerous guards in order to make multiple take-downs a lot easier. Unless it costs a lot of mana, in which case I think its perfectly fine, it might end up making the stealth playthrough a bit too easy since you can just cheese your way through the tougher sections. Naturally, all of this is just speculation on my part, but there is very little else to complain about given that Dishonored 2 looks exactly like I wanted it to - like an improved version of Dishonored 1.

As I've mentioned before, you can expect to see Dishonored 2 arrive to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 11. Here's to hoping it ends up being just as good as these videos portray it! The world sure could use more competent stealth games.
