Prison Architect Island Bound artwork and logo

[Update]: Prison Architect's Going Green DLC has added farming, green energy and even more trouble.

If you're looking to expand your Prison Architect experience in a bit of a nautical direction, you might want to check out the Island Bound expansion. As the name would imply, Island Bound gives you the ability to manage a prison complex on an island, which brings with it a whole assortment of new challenges to overcome, as well as new toys to play around with.

Due to the fairly small building area, you'll need to carefully manage your construction and staff, rely on both ferries and helicopters to transport prisoners and supplies, and even worry about an assortment of new problems like the greater influx of contraband because of all of the added transport options. And if you're feeling particularly benevolent, there's also a variety of new objects and activities for your prisoners to enjoy in between the bi-weekly rioting.

You can get a little bit of an idea of what this looks like in gameplay terms through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander, it's a fairly short one:

If any of this looks like it's up your alley, you'll be glad to hear that Island Bound is now already live on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. You can learn more about it, as well as potentially grab yourself a copy, over at the Prison Architect website. Enjoy!
