Ys IX: Monstrum Nox official artwork without logo

[Update]: Ys IX: Monstrum Nox has now landed onto PC and Switch, and so far it's looking pretty good!

After spending a fair bit of time on the PlayStation 4, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will finally be heading over to PC and Switch on July 6, 2021. Perhaps most importantly given Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana's messy launch, the ports this time around are being handled by PH3 Games and Engine Software, which all but guarantees that Ys IX will run incredibly smoothly all the way through.

If you would like to test that theory out for yourself, as well as check out what Ys IX has to offer on the gameplay front, you'll also be happy to hear that there is now a free demo available. The demo features two decently lengthy dungeons to explore and plenty of combat to sink your teeth into, so it's well worth the trouble if you're curious. To check it out simply head on over to Steam, click on that "Download Demo" button on the right, and you'll be ready to roll after a brief download.

While there is currently no trailer highlighting the two demo dungeons, you can get a pretty good impression of Ys IX through one of the recent trailers. Have a gander:

Once the full game goes live I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, enjoy the free demo!
