[Update #2]: Monster Hunter Rise's Sunbreak expansion has now landed onto PC alongside some technical troubles.

[Update]: My review of Monster Hunter Rise (PC) has now been released, and I'm very happy to say that it's a great port for a compelling yet somewhat unambitious Monster Hunter game.

After about a year of Nintendo Switch exclusivity, Monster Hunter Rise has now finally made its way to PC as well. The freshly released PC port brings with it support for 4k resolutions, high-res textures, uncapped framerates, ultrawide support, as well as an assortment of customization options to play around with.

Perhaps most importantly, unlike Monster Hunter: World which took a great deal of time to reach parity with the console version, Monster Hunter Rise is almost there! All of the content up to Patch 3.6.1 is already available, while full parity between the two versions will be achieved by the end of February 2022.

What you can expect to see in terms of actual gameplay, however, that you can find out through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander, it's a fairly short one:

Before you dive in, it's important to mention that Monster Hunter Rise also has a free demo available on Steam. The demo gives you access to all of the weapons, the training missions and a big hunt against a proper monster, so it should clue you in quite quickly on whether Monster Hunter Rise is your type of game or not.

Have fun, and if you're interested in learning a little bit more about Monster Hunter Rise, you should head on over to the Monster Hunter website.
