Path of Exile 2 artwork for the Necromancer

[Update]: Path of Exile's January 2022 Siege of the Atlas expansion has reworked the endgame yet again.

Once it arrives at some point in 2022, Path of Exile 2 will bring with it a whole host of improvements over the original. There will be an entirely new story campaign spread across seven acts, a massive rework of the skill tree, over a dozen new Ascendancy classes, support gems will socket into active skills rather than gear, and naturally, there will also be a variety of visual and audio enhancements across the board.

While the full list of changes hasn't been announced just yet, I'm very happy to say Grinding Gear Games have now released a lengthy new gameplay preview for Path of Exile 2, and so far it's looking pretty darn impressive! Have a look for yourself:

It's also worth mentioning that Path of Exile 2 will not be a completely different game, but more of an expansion for the original Path of Exile. So if you want to go through the original campaign for nostalgia's sake, you will be able to do just that. Oh, and any sort of cosmetics you've acquired over the years will transfer over as well!

Once more concrete information becomes available, ideally alongside another juicy gameplay preview, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, you can check out some of the new things coming with Path of Exile 2 over at the Path of Exile website.
