[Update]: Overwatch's Halloween Terror 2020 event has arrived alongside an assortment of awesome cosmetics, as well as the Soldier 76 weapon rework!

[Update]: Blizzard is finally taking a serious look at reversing the rampant power creep in Overwatch!

With very little forewarning, Blizzard has now unleashed the Overwatch Summer Games 2020 event. The new update brings with it an assortment of new cosmetics to collect, some nice quality of life improvements, three new challenges to complete over the course of the next three weeks, as well as major changes for the Lucioball game mode.

Since the cosmetics are by far the most exciting part of the update, allow me to share with you the recently posted teaser trailer. Have a gander, it's a pretty fun one:

When it comes to the new and improved Lucioball, you can expect to see players moving noticeably faster, sporting faster cooldowns, as well as larger punch and boop ranges. Additionally, punch and boop are now affected by your facing, which should increase your accuracy and help make some of the trickier shots less random. And just to make things even better, you can now crouch in the air in order to drop down to the ground at blazing speed - perfect for intercepting the ball!

There's also a whole bunch of Lucioball arena changes, as well as a new Backfilling system that gives players who join ongoing games a quicker queue for their next match! You can read more about these additions, as well as check out the various bug fixes, over at the Blizzard forums.

Have fun, and you can get a closer look at the new skins over at the Overwatch website.
