[Update]: The Winter Wonderland event has now arrived, and while there is sadly no new content, at least the festive new skins are pretty good.

After going through a brief delay due to all of the madness happening at Blizzard, Overwatch's annual Winter Wonderland event has now been pinned for December 16th. Once it arrives it'll bring with it an assortment of new and old cosmetics, a couple of cool event exclusive game modes to participate in, as well as three weekly challenges that will award additional cosmetics like new skins, sprays and player icons.

Most of the new cosmetics have not been revealed just yet, but the one they've showcased so far does set a pretty high standard! If you're curious, you can check out the brief teaser for Sleighing D.Va over at Twitter.

As far as actual brand new content is concerned, I think it's safe to assume we won't be getting anything this time around either as the team is still hard at work on Overwatch 2. Naturally, there is a small chance Blizzard might surprise us and release a morsel to keep us busy for a little while, but considering they didn't do anything for the PvE focused Halloween event I wouldn't exactly get my hopes up.

On the positive side, we are at least getting some interesting new Pharah lore this Christmas! The second part of the New Blood comic has now landed, and it's all about Cole (previously McCree) and Ana trying to convince Pharah to join the newly reformed Overwatch. Things don't exactly go as you might expect, so it's definitely worth a read if you're a fan of the heroes.

Once the Winter Wonderland event goes live and all of the new cosmetics get revealed I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, enjoy the comic!
