[Update #2]: The Anniversary update has now arrived. You can learn more over here.

[Update]: All 11 of the upcoming Anniversary skins have now been leaked. You can check them out over here.

Overwatch's second anniversary is fast approaching, and so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that the second annual Anniversary update will be coming soon as well, on May 22nd to be specific. What might come as a bit of a surprise, however, is that the Anniversary update will bring with it all of the past seasonal items and brawls! So if you ever wanted to try out Lucioball, or just grab some cosmetics you missed during the previous months, this update will have you covered.

As far as new content is concerned, there will be 8 new Legendary skins, 3 new Epic skins, 3 new dance emotes (Doomfist, Moira, Brigitte), as well as 36 miscellaneous items to collect. If the previous event is any indicator, the full list of cosmetics is going to be announced throughout this week, but so far I can only tell you that one one them is going to be Pirate Junkrat. I can only hope Blizzard will continue with the costume theme and also introduce the Swordsman Genji skin teased in the Halloween comic, because that thing is pretty darn sweet!

On a slightly different, although perhaps much more exciting note, this event will also bring with it a new competitive Deathmatch mode. It's currently unclear whether this is going to be a Team Deathmatch or Free-for-all focused event, but either way you can expect to see a new Deathmatch exclusive map - Petra. If you're not a fan of Deathmatch, however, worry not as all of the previous event brawls will be rotating in the Arcade, so getting your weekly Loot Boxes should be a fairly pleasant experience.

Speaking of which, just by logging in during the event you will be given a Legendary Lootboxe. As you might guess from the name alone, it contains a non-duplicate Legendary item, though don't get too excited as the Anniversary Loot Boxes will be filled to the brim with both new and old items alike. In other words, the odds of you getting a specific item are going to be fairly slim, so do make sure to stack up some coins, just in case one of the new skins catches your fancy.

Once more information gets announced I'll make sure to cover it, but until then I'm afraid all we can do is sit and wait.
