Metal: Hellsinger artwork and logo for the heavy metal influenced first-person shooter

[Update]: Metal: Hellsinger has now been unleashed, and I'm happy to say it's enjoying a highly positive reception so far.

If you're in the mood for a bit of an unusual combination of genres, you might want to keep an eye on the upcoming Metal: Hellsinger. It's essentially a heavy metal infused first-person shooter where everything is done to the beat of the music. So kind of like a rhythm game, just a lot more murderous.

Things get even more interesting when you consider that the music adapts to your gameplay. The more in sync you are with the rhythm, the more intense and aggressive the music will become, and the more destruction you'll be able to unleash upon your demonic foes! Needless to say, that is a really cool idea!

What all of this madness looks like in action, as well as what sort of style the music is going for, that you can get a pretty good idea of through the gameplay trailer below. Have a gander, it's not something you'll see every day:

It's also worth mentioning that the entire soundtrack has been specifically made for Metal: Hellsinger in collaboration with singers such as Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Matt Heafy (Trivium) or Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity). So even if you're not into the gameplay, the soundtrack might still be worth checking out!

As for the release date, Metal: Hellsinger will be launching for PC, PlayStation and Xbox this September 15th, 2022. If you don't feel like waiting even a couple of days, worry not as Metal: Hellsinger also has a free demo available.

You can check the demo out, as well as learn more about Metal: Hellsinger in general, over at Steam. Have fun, and I'll make sure to let you know once Metal: Hellsinger finally launches.
