[Update]: Mafia: Definitive Edition, a full remake of the classic game, has now been unleashed.

While two thirds of the Mafia: Trilogy collection have already been released, mostly with a couple of relatively small updates, the most interesting part is still in development - the full Mafia 1 remake. The reason this is the case is because Mafia 1 is being recreated from the ground up with greatly improved visuals and expanded dialogue, more storylines and backstories, additional cutscenes and gameplay features, as well as a variety of minor quality-of-life upgrades.

As for what exactly all of this looks like in gameplay terms, as well as how much the visuals have been improved, that you can find out through the recently posted developer preview. Have a gander, it's a rather lengthy one:

It's also worth mentioning that Mafia 1 has recently been delayed, and will not releasing on August 28th as previously announced. Instead, due to the pandemic slowing everything down, the release date has now been pushed back to September 25, 2020. Not exactly a massive delay, but hopefully the extra few weeks should be enough to get Mafia 1 polished up and ready to go.
