[Update]: This time around, the incredibly atmospheric survival horror game Darkwood is free to grab until October 20th!

If you're itching for something new and interesting to play, you'll be pleased to hear that there's a double giveaway going on! Both the strategy focused board game adaptation Gloomhaven and the (unsurprisingly) survival orientated ARK: Survival Evolved are currently free to grab at the Epic Games Store.

The one catch, as is tradition, is that the giveaway is time limited. So if you want either game, make sure to add them to your account before September 29th rolls around. Once you've done that you'll be able to play them whenever you want and for however long you want.

Both games are a great deal of fun, so if either premise sounds exciting to you I'd highly recommend diving in. That said, I would also advise against playing ARK: Survival Evolved alone. The game is pretty much designed to be played with a group, and trying to tackle its many challenges solo might end up being more frustrating than anything else. So while it's still free, see if you can wrangle some friends to give it a try alongside you.
