[Update]: Right on cue, the Echoes of a Fallen Star update is now live and running.

If you're itching for a reason to dive back into Final Fantasy XIV, or simply looking for more content, you might want to mark February 18th on your calendar as that's when Patch 5.2, Echoes of a Fallen Star, is set to arrive. It brings with it a brand new raid, dungeon, trials, beast tribe, crafting improvements and new fishing content, new story quests, and the list goes on for a while.

You can get a bit of a sneak peak at what Echoes of a Fallen Star's story will be about, as well as what sort of bosses you'll be squaring off against, through the recently posted trailer. Have a look:

For those of you wondering if this update will also include the previously announced rework of the base game's story and the somewhat tedious original quests, I'm afraid the answer is no. That said, you're not going to have to wait for too long as the next major update is set to bring just that! Nothing has been officially announced just yet, however, but expect to see the big update in either late May or early June.

As for Echoes of a Fallen Star, you can learn more about it by hopping over to the official website. The devs have done a pretty good job highlighting all of the major features, so I'd say it's well worth a trip. Have fun, and good luck with the upcoming bosses!
