Official artwork for the Far Cry 5 arcade system

My interest in Far Cry 5 started out fairly low, but nowadays I am genuinely excited about it given how Ubisoft keeps announcing one excellent feature after another. For example, instead of the usual batch of boring DLC content, Far Cry 5's Season Pass will let us travel back in time to Vietnam, face off against hordes of zombies in true b-movie fashion, and even hop on over to Mars in order to duel deadly space-arachnids!

And if that isn't enough craziness, you'll be glad to hear that Far Cry 5 will also be coming with a fully featured Map Editor that contains assets from almost all modern Ubisoft games. If you're wondering what exactly that might look like in-game, wonder no more as the developers have recently posted a brief preview video. Have a look, it's quite something:

While all of the major Far Cry games have featured Map Editors, they were all limited in a variety of ways which significantly hampered their potential and popularity. Thankfully, it does appear that Ubisoft has learned their lesson with Far Cry 5 as the Map Editor above seems to be far more comprehensive and interesting to work with than any of its predecessors. I can only hope it's going to be relatively easy to use as well, because if that's the case then Far Cry 5 is going to end up with quite an impressive lifespan.

You can learn more about the Arcade/Map Editor, or just Far Cry 5 itself, by heading over to the official website. As for the release date, you can expect all of it to arrive on March 27th for both PC and consoles. Personally, I can't wait to try it out and realize I have absolutely no artistic talent!
