Elden Ring official artwork and logo

[Update #2]: Elden Ring has now finally arrived, though sadly not without some technical problems on PC.

[Update]: FromSoftware has now shared a detailed preview showing off the combat, story and environments.

In an announcement that comes surprisingly close to its February 25th launch, the Elden Ring team has now finally revealed the minimum and recommended PC systems specs. They are a fair bit spicier than the usual FromSoftware fare, however, so I really do hope your rig is prepared for the first truly open-world Souls game!

But enough babbling from me, here's the brief rundown of what you'll need for both the minimum and recommended configuration:

Minimum

OS: Windows 10
Processor: INTEL CORE I5-8400 or AMD RYZEN 3 3300X
Memory: 12 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1060 3 GB or AMD RADEON RX 580 4 GB
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 60 GB available space

Recommended

OS: Windows 10/11
Processor: INTEL CORE I7-8700K or AMD RYZEN 5 3600X
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1070 8 GB or AMD RADEON RX VEGA 56 8 GB
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 60 GB available space

As it turns out, the recent leak was absolutely correct - Elden Ring will need a lot more RAM than the usual AAA game. Why exactly this is the case, I can't honestly say without giving it a try myself, but I can only imagine it's because FromSoftware have gone all-out on filling the world with small yet technically demanding details.

Whatever the case may be, you can get a pretty good impression of what Elden Ring will look like in action through one of the recent and rather lengthy gameplay previews. Enjoy!
