[Update]: The base version of The Sims 4 is now entirely free-to-play on both PC and consoles.

If you're looking for a game that has the potential to absolutely devour your free time, you might be interested to hear that EA is currently giving away The Sims 4. All you need to do is head on over to the Origin store, log into your Origin account, and you'll be tormenting your poor sims in no time.

The offer will only last until May 28th, however, so do make sure to grab yourself a copy as soon as possible. It's also worth mentioning that this is merely the Standard Edition, so if you want any of the million DLCs, you will have to buy them separately.

As for whether it's actually worth getting into The Sims 4, I think the answer is going to depend entirely on whether you like the idea of simulator/management games or not. A 'standard' playthrough of The Sims is relatively boring as you're basically just recreating the most mundane aspects of real life, but if you have a bit of imagination and a will to spice things up, you can create some truly unique and interesting experiences. So once again, it will really depend on just how much you enjoy simulator games and their little quirks.

You can learn a bit more about The Sims 4, as well as figure out what each of the DLCs has to offer, over at the official website.
