[Update #2]: After many delays, Dying Light 2 has now finally arrived onto PC and consoles!

[Update]: Dying Light's Battle Royale spin-off Dying Light: Bad Blood has now been made entirely free for all owners of the original game, regardless of platform.

Dying Light 2 was originally supposed to arrive at some point this spring, but according to the latest announcement, it would appear that it has joined the ever-growing pile of games that have been delayed throughout early 2020. As for the new release date, I'm afraid nothing has been revealed just yet, though more concrete information will be coming in the next few months.

"It was a busy year for us as we continued working on our biggest project to date," reads the developer update. "We know you are awaiting the game eagerly, and we want to deliver exactly what we promised".

"We apologize for this unwelcome news. Our priority is to deliver an experience that lives up to our own high standards and to the expectations of you, our fans."

Personally, I am perfectly fine with this kind of delay. Yeah, waiting a few extra months isn't exactly exciting, but as long as Dying Light 2 turns out well, it'll be worth it in the end. After all, it's much better to wait a little while and receive a (hopefully) fully polished game, rather than instantly get something half-baked that will still take months of patches before it works as advertised.

Once a new release date gets announced I'll make sure to let you know, but until then you can learn a bit more about Dying Light 2 by hopping over to the official website.
