Diablo 3 Grayhollow Island Patch 2.4.0 is most likely coming this Tuesday

Blizzard has been teasing the Grayhollow Island patch for over two months now, constantly releasing news and developer blogs but never actually telling us when it will be coming.

Thankfully, that has finally changed as patch 2.4.0 is set to arrive this Tuesday, 12th of January, barring any unforeseen circumstances. It will bring with it class and item balance changes, a new zone and dungeons to explore, items to collect and plenty of monsters to rain meteors on.

Here's a brief trailer showcasing the "lovely" vistas of Grayhollow Island:

If you're interested in more gameplay-orientated details then I'd suggest you head over to the recently posted Blizzard blog that does a pretty good job at getting you up to speed with everything new that's coming with Grayhollow Island.

While reading the blog post you might notice they haven't actually mentioned a release date anywhere so you might be wondering from what hole in the ground did I pull up Tuesday as the launch day. The answer is that in their infinite wisdom Blizzard has only mentioned the release date in a comment so far down in the comment chain it might as well be invisible. Here's the full message:

"The January 15th date is the start of the new season. We plan to release the patch prior to the start of Season 5.

While we typically patch on Tuesdays, dates can always shift if we run into technical issues during deployment preparations. This is why we do not provide hard release dates for any patch."

So if everything goes as planned, and I sure hope it does after how much they've been teasing us the past few months, the Grayhollow Island patch will be launching at their usual patching time tomorrow.
