[Update #2]: Borderlands 2 has just received a hefty new free DLC to help bridge the gap with Borderlands 2!
[Update]: Gearbox has released a brand new preview showing off two of the new playable characters!
After well over a year of rumors, Borderlands 3 has finally been officially announced last week. While the details are still few and far between, the lengthy gameplay trailer showed off what feels like a natural evolution of Borderlands 2, and perhaps most importantly, guns running around on tiny little legs!
Gearbox has still not spilled the beans on what exactly Borderlands 3 will be about, but on the positive side, they have now announced the release date. According to the latest preview, Borderlands 3 will be coming to PC and consoles on September 13, 2019. The PC version will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for six months, after which it will become available on Steam and other storefronts.
That's pretty much it as far as new information is concerned, but you can get a closer look at some of the new enemies and characters through the recently posted trailer. You'll only be able to catch glimpses as the whole video moves at a breakneck pace, but I suppose that's better than simply spoiling all of the interesting fights five months in advance.
