Code Vein close up screenshot of the combat

Code Vein is Bandai Namco's Souls inspired action-RPG that's all about tactical melee combat against extremely powerful enemies. It was originally supposed to release in late 2018, though after going through a short testing phase, the release date was pushed back to 2019.

Very little was heard from the Code Vein team since then, which is why you might be interested to hear that the seemingly endless silence has now been broken with the news of a release date. As you might guess from the title alone, Code Vein will be coming to both PC and consoles this September 27th!

Besides the release date, Bandai Namco has now also released the rather lengthy intro cinematic. So if you're wondering about what sort of atmosphere Code Vein will have, as well as what the visuals will be like, you'll find your answers right below. Have a look:

Personally, I'm quite curious to see what the actual gameplay will be like. Code Vein was originally delayed because testers found the gameplay to be utterly uninspired, so hopefully the extra year will be enough to get everything polished up and ready to go. After all, if the 'action' part of an action-RPG isn't up to snuff, what is even the point of it all?

Whatever the case may be, I suppose we'll find out soon enough as Code Vein's release date is quickly approaching. Until then, you can read a little bit more about it over at the official website.
