[Update #2]: Vampire Survivors is soon getting a sizable, Among Us inspired DLC - Emergency Meeting.

[Update]: Vampire Survivors will be adding local co-op and fully switching to a new engine on August 17th.

In an announcement that I must admit comes as a massive surprise, the Vampire Survivors team has just revealed that they have partnered with Story Kitchen (who is also working on a Sifu adaptation) to create an animated series. I'd love to give you more information, but the show is still early in development so the exact details are pretty much nonexistent, and the same goes for the expected release date.

As for how exactly the animated show is going to work given that the usual Vampire Survivors run turns into nearly incomprehensible noise towards the end, I have no idea, but I can only hope the animation will be just as stylish as the stuff we've seen in the DLC trailers. And if you haven't seen any of them so far, allow me to share with you the one for the recently released Tides of the Foscari expansion:

"As we all know, the most important thing in Vampire Survivors has always been the story, so we are very excited for this and we hope you are too," explains the brief update. "It’s still early days for the show, but I can already say that we will be involved so that we can ensure it doesn’t have any vampires (probably) and they will only cast the finest garlic. While we will be involved, this won't affect game development in any way."

If you don't particularly care about the idea of a Vampire Survivors TV series, worry not as the team is also working on a couple of new (and free) updates. The first one will launch in May alongside a bunch of fixes and small improvements, while the much chunkier Update 1.5 will be coming at some point this Summer with a new stage, relics and "something a bit different".

You can keep an eye on any teasers, as well as read more about what's happening with the animated show, over at Steam. Enjoy!
