[Update]: Slime-covered yet adorable Slime Rancher 2 is heading into Early Access on September 22, 2022.

Slime Rancher is a charming, first-person exploration-adventure that will have you wonder across the world in order to capture and take care of a whole host of adorable little slimes. It is a simple yet compelling formula, which combined with the frequent free updates, has rightly earned Slime Rancher an overwhelmingly positive rating on Steam!

As such, it shouldn't come as too much of a shock to hear that Slime Rancher has now once again received a rather hefty free update - Viktor's Experimental Update. Once you've constructed the Lab Ranch expansion and completed a couple of additional objectives, you'll be able to travel to Viktor's Workshop and explore a simulated world in a bit of an action-packed adventure. Collect as many glitched slimes as you can, avoid the constantly spreading corruption, and make your way to the exit before the entire simulation falls breaks at the seams.

You can also expect to see a whole host of new gadgets, improved pathing for the poor lil' drones, the ability to disable specific types of tutorials, and naturally, a bunch of other minor changes and bug fixes. The update has also brought with it the very first cosmetic DLC, but even if you don't feel like paying for it, you'll still get a bit of a facelift for your slimes, as well as a better animation for slime explosions!

If you're curious about what all of this might look like in actual gameplay terms, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. Have a peek:
