Black Mesa official artwork of the Xen chapter

After fourteen years in development, the fan-made recreation of Half-Life has now finally been released in full. So to say that Black Mesa has been a monumentally impressive project would be quite an understatement, especially considering how the developers have slowly improved (or at least tried to) nearly every single aspect of the original Half-Life!

If you're wondering just what all of this work has gone into, as well as what the launch version of Black Mesa looks like, you should check out the newly released trailer. Have a gander, it's quite a pretty one:

For those of you that have been following Black mesa throughout its Early Access stay, it's also worth mentioning that the launch version has been accompanied by a rather massive update. It has tweaked everything from the lighting to the enemy AI, so if you haven't given Black Mesa a try in a little while, you might want to do so as the improvements are actually quite noticeable. Either way, you can check out the full patch notes over at the Steam Community site.

As for Black Mesa itself, you can learn more about it, as well as potentially grab yourself a copy, by visiting Steam. Have fun, and if you develop an urge to play even more Half-Life games afterwards, it's also worth mentioning that the VR-exclusive Half-Life: Alyx is coming this March 23rd!
