Gears of War 4's campaign will have split-screen co-op on PC, as well as cross-play with the Xbox One

Developer The Coalition has recently announced a couple of rather surprising additions to the PC version of Gears of War 4. Not only will it support split-screen co-op, but also the ability to play with your friends on the Xbox One via the cross-play feature!

Naturally, there are some limitations in place given that the mouse & keyboard are objectively better when it comes to precision aiming. In other words, the public multiplayer will continue to be locked down to specific platforms, but everything else is free game. You can play through the campaign together, and if you so wish you can also play the horde mode, multiplayer vs ai, or just the regular ol' versus mode in private lobbies. A rather elegant solution to a rather complex problem.

Children of Arkham, the second episode of Telltale's Batman series, is now available

A little over a month has passed and Telltale has already released the second episode for their Batman series. This might not sound like much, but given how many delays we've had to endure with some of their previous games its nice to have things rolling out smoothly for once.

As for Episode 2: Children of Arkham, its focus is squarely planted on Gotham's seedy underbelly and the Wayne family's supposed ties to powerful criminal organizations. A stark contrast to the usual "Joker wrecks half of Gotham" plotlines Batman games tend to go for, and a rather welcome change if you ask me. If you're interested in learning more, here's the recently posted trailer. It should give you a good idea of what Episode 2 is going to be all about:

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's latest video shows off the campaign storyline and main antagonist

If you're like me and you haven't touched a Call of Duty game for many years now, you might be surprised to hear how futuristic all of it has become. The world appears to be some sort of utopia, space ships are practically everywhere, and to top it all off, we now posses a "Moon Gate" whose purpose I can only begin to imagine.

Things have certainly become a lot more interesting, though a lot more confusing as well given that the main antagonists in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare come from beyond the stars. In order to give you at least a bit of an idea of who you're going to be fighting against, the Call of Duty folks have released a brand new video showcasing the 'big baddie' and the overall storyline. Hearts of Iron IV, Paradox's World War II grand strategy wargame, has recently been updated with its very first major patch. The oddly named "Sunflower Patch" brings with it massive improvements to the AI, an overhaul of the user interface, numerous balance changes, and perhaps most importantly, a greatly improved online multiplayer.

You can read the full patch notes by heading over to the Paradox forums. However, if you're just interested in the short version before jumping in and figuring things out as you go, here are the highlights of this update:

Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax Gameplay Showcase - A colorful, action-packed shoot 'em up

Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax might have a completely ridiculous name, but behind it hides a rather impressive shoot 'em up. It features numerous weapons to choose from, five playable ships that you can either pilot solo or in local co-op, lovely backgrounds to look at as you blow away thousands of aliens, and most importantly, some kick ass music!

If you're wondering what all of this looks like in action, well, wonder no more as I've prepared a brief gameplay video to show you exactly that. The footage below is from one of the challenge modes, as such its a bit different from the campaign itself, but it should still give you a general idea of what to expect from Stardust Galaxy Warriors. Dishonored 2's latest video shows off some of the new moves, enemies, and characters

Dishonored 2 clockwork robots

The original Dishonored was an amazing game, there is no doubt about that, but it did have a few issues with balance. The majority of the powers you could unlock were of dubious usefulness, often due to their clunky nature that could easily leave you in a sticky situation, which resulted in most players primarily using the Blink ability from start to finish.

Thankfully, it does appear that Bethesda and Arkane are well aware of these issues as Dishonored 2 brings with it numerous quality of life upgrades for Corvo's powers. Blink now allows you to pause time as you choose your destination, Possession can be chained from host to host, Bend Time lets you completely manipulate the flow of time, and the list goes on.

If you're interested in a bit of a sneak peek at what all of this looks like in action, and more importantly, what sort of characters you'll be dealing with, Bethesda has recently posted a video showing off just that. Have a look:

Given how popular Overwatch has become, even in its early days, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that there are multiple competitors trying to take a piece of Blizzard's cake. The first of these to arrive, at least to my knowledge, is Paladins - a team based shooter from the developers of Smite, Global Agenda and Tribes Ascend.

With that introduction out of the way, let's now play a little game. I'm going to show you the most recent trailer for Paladins, and what I want you to do is to try and spot as many Overwatch inspired characters as you can. Here's a hint, there's a lot more of them than you think:

  • Overwatch
  • Hi-Rez
  • Paladins
