Hearthstone's Ben Brode has released a video discussing the upcoming Priest Purify card
- By Ash
- in News
For those of you that might not be in the loop, Blizzard has recently announced the One Night in Kharazan Hearthstone Adventure, an expansion that seemed to be a whole bunch of fun until the developers finally and sheepishly revealed the upcoming Priest cards. As it turns out, the Priest class which has been in an absolutely terrible state for many months now is not getting the cards it needs to finally stand on its own, but is instead getting a "dank meme" in the form of the Purify card.
Naturally, this announcement left the community outraged given that Hearthstone currently has a big issue where a few classes constantly have viable and interesting decks, while the others are mostly neglected until they get propped up by some absurdly broken cards and mechanics. This problem is even worse in arena where the Mage and Rogue classes dominate over all and where Priests have around 30% win rate, so I hope you can now understand why there is so much anger over Purify, one of the worst cards to ever grace Hearthstone, being added to the worst class in the game.
However, in a bit a shocking turn of events given that the Hearthstone team isn't really prone to giving straight up answers, Ben Brode came out and released a video discussing the Purify card, the team's thought process behind its design, and what exactly they plan to do next. Have a look:
Rocket League is getting a crazy new free DLC in September - the Rumble
- By Ash
- in News
I'm sure everyone will agree that Rocket League is a fairly generic game. Its just a bunch of rocket-powered acrobatic cars bouncing around an arena and occasionally hitting a ball in the vague direction of the opposing goal, all things you've seen a million times over.
What Rocket League really needs to set it apart, however, is a car that's able to summon a tornado, or at the very least launch a magical, physics defying grappling hook! Thankfully, the upcoming free Rumble DLC seems to be bringing exactly that sort of madness into Rocket League, just in case you ever needed even more of it! Also, if you thought I was joking with the whole tornado thing, allow me to present evidence A, or the announcement trailer as normal people would call it:
The upcoming Berserk game has finally received its first gameplay video
- By Ash
- in News
Berserk is a long-running manga series that has managed to successfully and skillfully deal with some of the darkest topics you can ever imagine. To top it all off, its artwork is incredibly visceral with absolutely no sugarcoating when it comes to portraying scenes of battle, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that Berserk is getting its own video game adaptation.
However, while a Dynasty Warriors styled Berserk game was announced last month by Koei Tecmo, they unfortunately didn't reveal anything about the most exciting part of both Berserk and the Warriors series in general - the absolutely ridiculous combat. Thankfully, the recently posted trailer has now corrected that mistake as it features Guts (the character, not the body part) slicing and dicing through entire legions of poor fools that decided to stand in his way. Long War Studios, developers behind the most famous (and quite frankly the best) XCOM: Enemy Unknown mod Long War, have already released a whole slew of high quality mods for XCOM 2, and they are showing no signs of slowing down.
If anything, they are actually speeding up given that their latest "Long War Alien Pack" mod is filled to the brim with a whole bunch of new and unique enemies to fight, some of which are improved versions of the previously released boss aliens. Here's a list of every new enemy you'll be able to encounter:
Dark Souls is getting another four-part comic series - Winter's Spite
- By Ash
- in News
The Dark Souls series is no stranger to comics given that it has already received four, and while the first one was quite terrible in my humble opinion, the following three had managed to correct most of the problems and create an actually compelling bit of Souls storytelling. Whether any of it its canon or not, I have absolutely no idea, but if you're looking to get a bit of an insight into Aldritch's life, check them out.
On the other hand, if you're looking for a comic that doesn't focus around everybody's favorite cannibalistic god-eater, you'll be glad to hear that the same creative talent is back with a brand new four-part Dark Souls comic series titled Winter's Spite. While there isn't much information available right now, here's the basic premise:
Blizzard will soon start punishing Lucio Ball exploiters in Overwatch

Blizzard recently added 90 new cosmetic items to Overwatch as a part of the Summer Games update, but also a brand new brawl modeled after everyone's favorite car acrobatics game that occasionally involves scoring goals as well - Rocket League. As you might expect, the Rocket League inspired Lucio Ball ended up being a good amount of fun and a perfect diversion from the otherwise competitive nature of Overwatch.
Unfortunately, people quickly realized there are ways of exploiting the mode in order to spawn as heroes other than Lucio, and then simply mow down the unarmed opposition and score goals with impunity. After spending a week desperately trying to fix this issue and running into even more problems, Blizzard has finally announced that they will soon start punishing those that are willingly exploiting Lucio Ball in order to ensure the brawl actually remains fun.
Here's the brief announcement message from Overwatch's Director, Jeff Kaplan:
Earth Defense Force 4.1 is getting 26 new missions today as a part of the Time of the Mutants DLC
- By Ash
- in News
Earth Defense Force 4.1 recently launched with ~80 missions, four different classes and ~800 weapons to toy around with, so it definitely isn't lacking in terms of content. However, if you've managed to burst through all of the missions and are now left without insects to squash, the Time of the Mutants DLC is set to arrive later today.
While the details are still unknown, the Steam store page boasts 26 new missions, all designed to be the most intense and challenging trials the EDF has ever faced. "They're really, really, REALLY hard".
