No Man's Sky screenshot showing the new base building system

I expressed a fair bit of skepticism the first time I heard Hello Games is adding base building to No Man's Sky, and while I'm still not completely sold on the idea, I must admit that the Foundation Update has turned out to be much nicer than I expected. You can now build bases on abandoned outposts, recruit aliens to help you manage things or research new items, stack items to save on inventory space, and if you're looking for a slightly different gameplay experience, try one of the two new game modes.

If you're interested in seeing what all of these changes mean for No Man's Sky, and more importantly, how they actually function in game, here's a brief developer-guided preview video:

Genji's Katana and Shurikens from Overwatch turned into real-life weapons

Whether you love him or hate him, Genji is one of the most iconic characters in Overwatch, and one of the biggest reasons behind that is his amazing ultimate. There are very few things more exciting than watching a cyborg-ninja scream "Ryūjin no ken o kurae!" before diving into the enemy team and tearing through half of them with a giant, glowing katana.

As such, I am quite happy to say that the folks over at AWE me have decided to recreate his iconic weapon, alongside a couple of shurikens, as a part of their Man at Arms series. But rather than simply show you the end result, they have filmed quite literally the entire process! So if you're interested in seeing Genji's katana emerge from a slab of boring ol' metal, give the video a look:

Ubisoft's Eagle Flight VR game screenshot

One of the biggest threats to VR right now is the lack of actually enjoyable games, especially when you consider how expensive the headsets are, so to see platform-exclusive games before VR has even become "a thing" is a rather big problem. Thankfully, it appears that Ubisoft is well aware of this issue as they have just announced that all of their VR games will support cross-platform play.

In other words, you will be able to play Eagle Flight (only one currently released), Werewolves Within, and Star Trek: Bridge Crew on all three main platforms: PSVR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive. And best of all, all three games will allow you to team up or play against other players, no matter the platform! As for why exactly they're doing this, Ubisoft had the following to say:

Cities: Skylines DLC Natural Disasters is bringing with it massive firestorms

[Update]: The expansion is now available.

If you're sick and tired of creating wonderful, penis-shaped cities where everyone and everything lives in peace and harmony, there is a solution on the horizon! And by solution I mean Armageddon, because the upcoming Natural Disasters DLC is bringing with it a whole bunch of new ways to for nature to absolutely demolish your cities, as well as a couple of systems that allow you to hopefully mitigate the casualties and avoid most of the damage.

And if you're wondering what these disasters might look like, here's the relatively recent trailer showcasing the end of the world set to some rather lovely music. Have a look, and try not to hum along while the whole city burns:

Rocket League will soon support Steam Workshop

Despite them not being officially supported, at least not to a significant degree, Rocket League still has a rather large collection of user-made obstacle courses and training arenas. Once the upcoming December update rolls around, however, you can expect to see that number go even higher as Psyonix has announced that Steam Workshop support is coming to Rocket League!

In other words, you will soon be able to easily browse through all of the currently available mods, pick and choose your favorites, and then add them to your game with the single press of a button. Once downloaded, you can access them in the 'Extras' section of the main menu and play to your heart's content.

Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide, the premier co-op rat-slaying simulator set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe, is set to become even bigger in the near future. But instead of fighting in an Imperial city and its surroundings, the action in the upcoming Karak Azgaraz DLC will be set in a gigantic Dwarven fortress that is currently suffering a bit of a Skaven infestation.

In gameplay terms this means you'll have three new maps to explore, each one with a variety of objectives to complete and areas to litter with Skaven bodies, as well as two new weapons to clobber the enemy with: the Dwarf Ranger's Warpick, and the the Witch Hunter's Falchion.

With Hitman's physical release pinned for January 31st, IO-Interactive has begun releasing a series of patches that aim to correct most of the current issues, and also add a bunch of new content. The very first of these updates has arrived today, bringing with it the ability to keep your unlocked weapons and toys while in offline mode, but also a variety of bug, optimization, and gameplay fixes.

If you're interested in all of the changes that arrived alongside the update you can check them out by heading over here, but if you're just interested in the highlights, here's the list:

To say that No Man's Sky has ended up being a disappointment is one hell of an understatement, and as I've mentioned in my review it is in need of numerous content patches before it can even be considered a finished game. And while the upcoming Foundation Update might not bring with it enough new content to fix all of No Man's Sky's issues, it at the very least marks the beginning of a long and arduous trip towards something greater.

Once the Foundation Update finally arrives, most likely today given the wording in the announcement, it will bring with it "the foundation of base building", but also lay the groundwork for future updates. Since there are very few details available right now, allow me to show you the full announcement message so that you can at least understand what Hello Games is planning:

Telltale's The Walking Dead Season 3 screenshot of Javier and Clementine

If you were hoping that Telltale's The Walking Dead: Season 3 would release in November as previously announced, I am afraid I have a bit of bad news. According to the newly updated release dates on both the official site and Steam, Season 3 will not be releasing in November, but rather on December 20.

As with all of Telltale's modern games, Season 3 - A New Frontier will be broken up into five episodes, so it is important to note that this December will only bring with it the first episode. On the positive side, if the trailer is any judge it appears to be quite an intriguing first episode! Have a look:

Titanfall 2's main character and his mech

Respawn Entertainment have announced that the very first piece of free Titanfall 2 DLC will be arriving next week with a new map, a new pistol, a bunch of customization kits for your Titan, as well a couple of other additions. You can expect to see Angel City DLC arrive on November 30 for those that have pre-ordered Titanfall 2, while everyone else will get access to it on December 3.

And if you're wondering what exactly this DLC will bring with it, but also what Respawn Entertainment is planning for Titanfall 2, here's the list of features and a couple of quotes from the announcement:
