XCOM 2: War of the Chosen is an expansion that aims to greatly improve upon the original, while also adding a whole bunch of new storylines, enemies, and factions to deal with. However, not all of these new factions will be hostile towards you, though you will need to expend considerable effort in order to get them to even simply trust you!

If you're wondering what exactly one of these recruitment missions might look like, and also what sort of enemies you might face off against, you'll find what you seek in the most recent "Lost and Abandoned" gameplay video. Have a look:

The original XCOM 'zombies' were a fairly mediocre bunch, nothing more than cannon-fodder, which is why I'm very glad to see that The Lost have quite a bit of flavor to them. They aren't exactly strong in melee combat, nor are they particularly durable against any sort of firepower, but their sheer numbers are enough to compensate for all of those flaws. In other words they're the archetypal zombie enemy, a concept that can work pretty damn well if their stats are balanced just right. So here's to hoping Firaxis will manage to do just that, because so far War of the Chosen is shaping up to be quite intriguing!
