[Update]: World of Warcraft hotfix has sorted out some of the major balance issues with the pre-patch.

With World of Warcraft's Shadowlands expansion launching this November 23rd, Battle for Azeroth's days are now slowly coming to an end. So if you would like to give it a try before it goes away, or simply say hello to your old characters, you'll be happy to hear that Blizzard is currently running a free weekend.

Basically, if you've previously played World of Warcraft, you can now log in and roam the world without the need for a subscription. The catch, as you might expect, is that this offer is time-limited. As such, you only have until 11:59pm PST on November 8 to play for free, after which you'll need a subscription.

While most of the new content is coming with the Shadowlands expansion, the recent pre-patch does offer a couple of nifty things to mess around with. There's a whole assortment of new cosmetic options to explore, classes and their talents have been reworked, the leveling system has been revamped so you can pick and choose which expansions you want to play through, and perhaps most importantly of all, the levels themselves have been squished down from 120 to 50!

Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the recently posted pre-patch survival guide. It should clue you in quite quickly on just what there is to do in World of Warcraft before the Shadowlands expansion hits. Have a gander:
