World of Warcraft Shadowlands artwork for the new tier sets

The quality-of-life focused Update 9.1.5 has only just arrived, and already Blizzard is setting their sights on Update 9.2 - Eternity's End. Shadowlands' most likely final major update will bring with it Zereth Mortis as a mysterious new zone to explore, the return of class-based tier sets, a new raid to conquer, an ancient runic language to slowly decipher, and the list goes on.

You can get a pretty good idea of what this looks like in actual gameplay, as well as what the developers are trying to accomplish, through the recently posted preview. Have a gander:

Needless to say, so far Update 9.2 is looking like a bit of a mixed bag. While it's certainly delightful to be able to acquire tier sets through a variety of activities rather than simply raiding, I can't help but feel disappointed with the story direction. We're basically reaching the end of Shadowlands and I still can't tell you a single thing about Sylvanas' motivations or the Jailer's plans - just some vague nonsense about remaking reality.

Combine this with what appears to be yet another completely disconnected zone that will feature yet another currency to farm through endless daily quests, and it's just kind of hard to be excited about it all. That said, I genuinely do hope that I'm wrong and that Update 9.2 - Eternity’s End will be the turning point for Blizzard and the beginning of World of Warcraft's slow and steady climb back to the top. After all, I've invested nearly half of my life into the Warcraft universe, so the last thing I want to see is it stumble and fall flat on its face over and over again.

Whatever the case may be, I'll make sure to let you know once we get closer to Update 9.2's as of yet unannounced release date. Until then, you can learn a little bit more about the new content over at the World of Warcraft website.
