World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth artwork showing Teldrassil on fire

World of Warcraft's Battle For Azeroth pre-patch has now arrived to the American servers, while the rest of the world will be getting the update at some point tomorrow. Besides bridging the gap between Legion and Battle for Azeroth, the update will also be introducing a massive stat-squish to curb the overly inflated damage and health numbers, a new storyline that will culminate with the attacks on Teldrassil and the Undercity, the removal of Artifact Power and weapon traits, and the list goes on for a while.

If you're interested in all of the changes and additions, you'll find the full patch notes over at the official website. They are unfortunately a bit vague when it comes to specific balance changes, but given that pretty much every number has been adjusted I can't exactly fault Blizzard for deciding to not even attempt to cover all of it.

I play on EU so I obviously can't offer any personal experience, but from what I've seen the servers are still a bit shaky due to the large influx of players. So if you can, I would highly advise playing a bit later as that way you'll avoid most of the issues, as well as most of the queues on the high population servers. After all, the content will still be there tomorrow, so don't just spend your entire day staring at a malfunctioning login screen.

And as a final note, allow me to send you off with Blizzard's recently posted "Survival Guide" for Patch 8.0. It doesn't cover all of the changes that came in with the pre-patch, but it should give you a pretty darn good idea of what to expect. Enjoy, and good luck getting into the servers!
