If you're a fan of World of Warcraft, whether this be the newest Dragonflight expansion or the various Classic versions, you'll be pleased to hear that the future looks bright! According to the freshly released Roadmap, both versions of the game will be getting a plethora of major updates throughout 2024!

The highlights for the 'Retail' side include things like world-wide dragonriding and a new assortment of quests in Winter, as well as remastered Dragonflight raids and a seemingly improved Timewalking option for the Pandaria expansion in Spring. All of this will eventually lead into The War Within expansion that will launch in late Summer and bring with it the usual array of new content like new zones, dungeons and raids, Earthern allied race, and the list goes on for a while.

World of Warcraft Classic will also be getting a nice spread of content. Wrath of the Light King Classic will be getting the Ruby Sanctum raid, Season of Discovery will expand the level cap to 40 and add Gnomeregan as a new raid, while the Hardcore servers will add a self-found mode - and all of this will be launching early in 2024!

Afterwards you can look forward to the re-release of the Cataclysm expansion, as well as even more Season of Discovery content. Most excitingly of all, however, there will be mysterious "end game content updates" for Season of Discovery in Autumn that might just expand World of Warcraft Classic far beyond its original scope!

So if you don't limit yourself to only one version of World of Warcraft, there should be more than enough fresh content to keep you occupied for quite a while. Sure, some of it may be reworked or remastered versions of things you've already seen, but given enough care and attention even that kind of stuff can be a nice bit of fun. As such, here's to hoping Blizzard manages to pull it all off and give some of these zones and raids a second lease on life!

Once Blizzard announces more details about these upcoming features I'll make sure to let you know as I'm quite curious myself. Until then, I'm afraid all we can really do is sit and wait. Well... that and maybe also eat some leftover holiday snacks!
