PC version of the hugely popular JRPG MMO Phantasy Star Online 2 was supposed to arrive to the west quite a few years ago. However, while the exact details about what happened never surfaced, the western PC release ended up being quietly canceled at some point and its website shut down.

Usually that would be where the story ends, but thankfully this one has a bit of a happy ending. It may have taken nearly a decade, but according to Microsoft and SEGA, the western PC version of Phantasy Star Online 2 will be launching on May 27th!

There is also one bit of a bad news, sadly, and that would be the simple fact that this version of Phantasy Star Online 2 will only launch in North America. While things may change in the future, there are currently no plans to expand it to other regions such as Europe, Middle East or Africa. On the positive side, there will at least be cross-play between the western PC and Xbox One versions.

To learn more about Phantasy Star Online 2, as well as follow the upcoming PC release, you should head on over to the official website. Enjoy!
