Warhammer 40,000: Darktide screenshot of the Chaos baddies

[Update]: My review for Darktide is now live and, long story short, it's as rough and fascinating as the world it takes place in!

After releasing an absurd amount of content for Vermintide 2, with more still in the works, Fatshark is now also looking to apply their touch to Warhammer 40,000 with the newly unveiled Darktide. Much like its predecessor, Darktide will be a four-player co-op game that's all about mowing down hordes of Chaos fanatics, Nurgle monstrosities, and all sorts of other nonsense that spews forth from the Warp.

As for what exactly all of this looks like in actual gameplay, as well as what sort of characters you'll be able to play as, that you can find out through the recently posted gameplay trailer. Have a gander, it's a pretty fun one:

Needless to say, Darktide is already looking like a new and improved version of Vermintide. So as long as Fatshark doesn't somehow royally mess things up, I think it's safe to say that Darktide is going to be a pretty darn solid co-op experience. Perhaps a bit buggy at launch, as is tradition, but hopefully nothing a heavy flamer won't sort out!

When it comes to the characters themselves, I'm afraid we have very little actual information. I can only assume they'll follow in the footsteps of their Vermintide 2 counterparts and will have an assortment of different weapons and specializations to choose from, each of which will likely be themed around one of the Warhammer 40k orders. If so, then that also means there might even be a fifth character that just wasn't revealed yet!

Once we get more information I'll make sure to let you know as I'm quite curious myself. Until then, you can read a little bit more about Darktide over at the official website.
