Vermintide 2 screenshot of Kerillian with dual daggers

If you've only recently bought Vermintide 2, or if you still have a couple of characters you haven't leveled up to 30 just yet, you might be interested to hear that the Sonnstill celebration event has now begun. Besides giving you a chance to acquire a couple of in-game loot boxes (the non-paid kind) and a cosmetic portrait, the update has also introduced a double EXP weekend, perfect for getting your characters leveled up and ready for Legend difficulty.

While the list of changes isn't exactly massive, there are two important ones I feel the need to highlight. The first one is that the Charm trait "Concoction" now actually gives all buffs to your allies once you drink a potion, rather than only some of them. Given that the previously missing effect is the one that boosts your damage, I think this buff should go a long towards making Concoction a much more interesting choice.

The second, and perhaps the most important, tweak is that the Special sound effects should now take priority over all other sounds. So if you're playing as Slayer Bardin and you're cleaving through rats by the hundreds, you will no longer get snatched by completely inaudible Packmasters hiding within the throng. A small change in the grand scheme of things, but one that is going to have a major gameplay impact!

The final thing worth mentioning is that this update has added a new room to the keep! While the door is completely barred, people have managed to make their way inside and from what I can figure out it appears to be some sort of trophy room. Whether this will be a part of the long-awaited keep customization feature or something related to the upcoming DLC, I'm afraid I have no idea, but it's still good to see that new stuff is just around the horizon for Vermintide 2.

You can read more about the Sonnstill celebration update over at the official website. If you're interested in my review for Vermintide 2, however, you'll find it over here.
