Even though it had a bit of a rough start, Fatshark has slowly but surely managed to improve Vermintide 2 in nearly every way. And now, an entire year since launch, Vermintide 2's balance is in an excellent place, there is a wide variety of maps to mess around with, and the once incredibly frustrating enemies have finally been made consistent and bug-free.

In order to celebrate all of this, Fatshark has now released the Anniversary Update alongside a brand new map called "A Quiet Drink". If you're interested in all of the details, as well as the full patch notes, you should hop on over to Steam to learn more.

As for the new map, I am glad to say it's an absolute delight to play! It's not exactly a lengthy map, but with plenty of references and absolutely hilarious drunken dialog, it is one that I have gladly played through nearly a dozen times already. After all, it's not every day you get to hear Kerillian be actually happy, if you can even believe that!

Unfortunately, the event will only last for about a week, after which it will go away for an undetermined amount of time. So if you're up for experiencing a lighter side of our battle-hardened heroes, I would recommend checking A Quiet Drink out while it's still available.

And just for good measure, allow me to share with you the rather unique anniversary trailer. There's not a single bit of gameplay footage on display, instead it's all done through the use of classic Warhammer miniatures and a bit of special effects to liven them up! Enjoy!
