Steep: Road to the Olympics expansion artwork and logo

Steep is Ubisoft's extreme winter sports game that allows you to ski, glide, snowboard, or just faceplant across a variety of rather lovely terrain. Given the theme it really shouldn't come as a surprise to hear that has Ubisoft has recently announced a Winter Olympics themed expansion - Road to the Olympics.

The upcoming expansion will allow you to fully explore the mountains of Japan and South Korea, and perhaps most importantly, compete in some of the official Olympic disciplines such as: Downhill, Slopestyle, Halfpipe, Giant Slalom, Super-G, and Big Air. Besides all of the new modes and maps there will also be numerous challenges to undertake, as well as what appears to be a tournament system. Road to the Olympics has only recently been announced, so take that last statement with a bit of salt, but it would make sense for an Olympics themed expansion to feature a proper tournament mode.

Steep: Road to the Olympics will be coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One this December 5th. As I've mentioned above there is very little concrete information available right now, but if you would like to follow Steep's development I would suggest heading over to the official website. And finally, here's a brief trailer teasing some of the new content, though don't get your hopes up too much as there really isn't a lot on display. Anyway, here's the video:
