Total War: Warhammer's Cygor from the Beastmen faction

With Total War: Warhammer's first substantial DLC, Call of the Beastmen, slowly approaching its release date, Creative Assembly has finally decided to share some more information on how the Warherds will operate on the campaign map and what exactly a horde of bloodthirsty monstrosities will be able to research.

As is tradition, this reveal was done through a developer-guided gameplay video that goes over pretty much every aspect of the Beastmen campaign, from the way you build up your armies and raze cities to the way you research new technologies and balance your favor. Have a look:

While the Beastmen really do look spectacular, especially when it comes to how fluidly they reinforce their armies while constantly pushing ever-forward, I can't help but feel that they're a better version of the Chaos Warriors. They don't suffer attrition, their bonuses are better, and the Grand Campaign is a whole lot easier since you don't get ambushed every once in a while by a rather difficult foe.

Then again, I suppose they don't have to be perfectly balanced on the campaign map as long as they're equally as strong on the field of battle. Whether that is the case, I don't know, but we will be able to find out this Thursday, July 21st at 2pm BST as Creative Assembly has a special battle showcase prepared for us.

If you would like to learn more about Call of the Beastmen I would suggest you head over to the Steam Store page over the official website. Its surprisingly detailed and filled with information on nearly every aspect of the DLC, big or small.

And speaking of which, Call of the Beastmen will be arriving on July 28 at a rather hefty €17,5 price tag, though there is a 10% pre-order discount.
