[Update #2]: Total War: Warhammer 3's August update will greatly rework the long-forgotten Warriors of Chaos.

[Update]: Total War: Warhammer 3's first post-launch DLC will add four new Chaos factions.

While work on the massive Immortal Empires combined campaign map continues, the Total War: Warhammer 3 team has now unleashed Update 1.3 to help tide everyone over. The update brights with it the second batch of Regiments of Renown, a variety of improvements to unit responsiveness in battle, reworked character traits and skill trees, and the list goes on for a while.

You can get a brief overview of the major changes, as well as check out how all of this looks like in action, through the developer preview below:

If you prefer the written word, however, you can find the full patch notes over at the Total War website. Creative Assembly has done a pretty god job of sorting the huge list, so figuring out what exactly is changing for your favorites should be fairly easy.

The final thing worth mentioning is that the freshly released buffs to ranged units will be getting reverted in the near future. The idea was to make it so ranged units at the back of a formation would reliably fire as long as enemies were within range, unlike the previous version where they would sometimes just get confused and sit around. While the tweak did indeed fix this, it also made it so ranged units can now fire even while they're engaged in melee. Needless to say, this is a serious issue, so the whole thing will be getting rolled back until a proper fix can be applied.

Have fun with the new changes, as silly as some of them may be, and I'll make sure to let you know once Creative Assembly announces the next big addition.
